SOFTUBE CONSOLE 1 FADER
Hands-on Mixing for Softube’s Console 1
If you like to get hands-on while you’re mixing, the Softube Console 1 Fader gives you much to get excited about.
This 10-fader approach to Softube’s popular Console 1 integrated hardware/software mixing makes riding track levels a breeze, while also enabling fast, intuitive control over volume, saturation, filtering, and tons of other parameters. Two component-modelled console emulations enrich your tracks with analogue flavour.
Console 1 Fader integrates seamlessly with Softube’s original Console 1 controller, supplying you with a complete channel strip solution. It’s like getting the benefits of a physical mixing console, minus the financial constraints and space requirements.
Console 1 Fader boasts a weighty powder-coated steel chassis, high-quality hardware, and it works with all major DAWs right out of the box — no MIDI mapping required. Console 1 Fader is a must-have add-on for every Softube Console 1 user.
The Console 1 Fader includes ten touch-sensitive 100 mm ALPS motorised faders.
Besides making riding track levels a breeze, multiple fader modes also enable fast, intuitive command over drive level, drive character, input gain, low cut, high cut, and up to three send levels — all from the same hardware control. You also get a Layer Mode that lets you build layers of tracks, placing many levels of mixing at your fingertips.
The Console 1 Fader makes it child’s play to low cut all your guitars at once, or saturate your groups early on for a top-down effect in seconds.
As for the quality of the hardware, you’ve got nothing to worry about — these faders are the real deal.
You get an amazing level of control with the Softube Console 1 Fader.
Besides its ten premium faders, you also get one-touch access to solo and mute functions, along with nearly every other parameter you can think of.
Three assignable buttons control your DAW’s transport, or you can use them to access your favourite key commands.
A single encoder, which is mounted on a high-grade, all-metal potentiometer, supplies easy tactile control over panning, as well as per-track stereo width via Console 1 Fader’s Spatializer tool. You’ll be amazed at how easily you can position each track in your mix using this single control.
And don’t think you’re limited to 10 tracks — with the Console 1 Fader, you can quickly page through hundreds of tracks, 10 channels at a time.
Console 1 Fader works with Studio One and UA’s Apollo Console right out of the box, and using it with Pro Tools and other DAWs is just as stress-free — simply install the Console 1 plug-in on each track in your session, and you’ll benefit from effortless tactile control.
The Console 1 Fader is more than a mere control surface, it’s a full-blown console-in-a-box mixing solution — complete with component-modelled console emulations that will inject your mixes with true-to-life analogue flavor.
Best of all, since the processing is happening in Softube’s award-winning software, you’re able to switch console emulations on the fly to audition different sounds across your entire project. You can even select a different emulation for each channel!
The Console 1 Fader includes two analogue console emulations (Tube and Discrete), and is compatible with Softube’s Console 1 expansions, such as American Class A, British Class A, and SSL XL 9000 K-Series.
The Console 1 Fader is a great way to achieve an authentic mixed-on-a-console experience in the box.
Building on the success of Console 1 was never going to be easy. But like you, we believe in ambitious dreams. To further improve the epic workflow advantages Console 1 brings, we had to ask, “where can we go next?” The answer was clear, and the result is here.
Improving feel and workflow, and making the best of hardware and software available in one place, Console 1 Fader allows you to raise the sound quality bar to new heights. Mixing a masterpiece isn’t easy, but with Console 1 Fader there’s no limit to what you can do.
Now’s the time.
Ten touch-sensitive 100 mm Alps motorised faders give premium professional feel and feedback, while the weighty powder-coated steel chassis means durability and substance in a sleek Scandinavian design.
Fader includes two console emulations (Tube and Discrete). Way more than a simple controller, Fader enriches the sound of your tracks in the same ways as a true analogue console.
Riding faders is muscle memory for many mix engineers. For those of us who play the desk like an instrument, Console 1 Fader gives quick and intuitive control over volume, saturation, filtering, and much more.
The Console 1 mixing ecosystem is so much more than a simple DAW/plug-in controller.
It’s an efficient, elegant, and amazing-sounding modern mixing solution, combining hardware and software to give you the best of both worlds: the versatility, affordability, and usability of in-the-box mixing, alongside the workflow, feel, and focus dedicated hardware can bring.
Console 1 Fader can be used alone, or in combination with the original Console 1 channel strip controller for a tight ‘complete desk’ experience. You can even use multiple Console 1 Fader units to build the ideal workflow for your specific studio.
There are many ways to mix a masterpiece, but riding faders is a matter of muscle memory for a lot of us.
And for good reason – reaching out and grabbing five or ten different sounds or groups at once, and quickly adjusting, listening, adjusting, listening, balancing… it’s a full-body discipline, and software alone can’t come close.
Tapping into the same purpose-designed software environment as the original Console 1 channel strip controller, Fader brings new levels of control over the wider world of your mix.
You can ride up to ten channels at once, working volume, high-and-low-cut filter values, drive and drive character (modelled desk saturation), and more. Then page up for ten more channels. And ten more, until you have easy access to your whole mix, even when tracks number into the hundreds.
Because all the audio signal processing happens in our award-winning component-modelled software, you can switch out the 'circuitry' of your console instantaneously for a different desk sound across your whole project, or even channel by channel.
In addition to the two analogue console sounds Fader ships with, you can purchase any of our Console 1 channel strips and use those classic desk sounds with Fader.
